Andrew & Taylor

Andrew and Taylor were married on a frigid December day last year, nearly the last day of the year!  The wedding took place in Fraser, Michigan, at the Christ Church Fraser: a charming church led by Andrew’s parents!  This was a blast from the past for me as I was shooting just steps from my old high school!  This lovely couple found me through my previous clients David & Kaylee (thanks guys!) and traveled in from the west of our state to plan and organize this wedding.

Andrew & Taylor are perfect together, and their love for each other was obvious.  I clicked with them immediately and was so excited to work with them.  Taylor is lovely, and Andrew has an amazing smile.  Couples like this make my job so much easier!

Their wedding day dawned with freezing temperatures and high winds, but nothing couple dampen their spirits.  We just make it work.  Taylor wore a beautiful strapless wedding dress with amazing white cowboy boots, with her bridesmaids in elegant navy.  Andrew and his groomsmen wore tailored grey suits with navy blue vests to complement the girls.  Their wedding mascot was their adorable Boston terrier, Fitz.  He was very handsome in his own little black bowtie!  Unfortunately, Rex, Fitz’ new step brother, can be a bit of a crazy goon, so had to send his regrets.

During the ceremony, Andrew sang to Taylor, which was really touching.  I think I got something in my eye during his song….

The reception was held at the Fern Hill Golf Club in Clinton Township.  It’s a fantastic venue, with beautiful, manicured grounds and great food.  Heck, there is even a bowling alley if you’re so inclined!  After braving the freezing weather, it was great to be inside!  Taylor’s Aunt Renae had hosted a wonderful lunch for the wedding party that morning, and handcrafted a monogram sign for the head table at the reception, a wonderful memento that Taylor and Andrew plan to hang in their home.

Everyone let loose once the dance floor opened, and Andrew indulged in a quick cigar with his Marine buddies, but was back at his bride’s side in short order.  It was a fun, classy, and relaxed night, and was the perfect prelude their journey together.

Not for the first time, I felt pretty lucky to have a job where I get to meet so many fantastic and happy people.

I would highly recommend Jesse to anyone for their wedding - not only did he capture beautiful portraits of us/wedding party but some of my favorites are the candid shots that he got, allowing my husband and I to see parts of the day that we were not around for. The most beautiful pictures to remember the best day ever! It was awesome to not feel like I had to pose all day and could still be natural... Read More
