Rob & Maddie

I’ve been anticipating photographing a Colony Club wedding for years, and have been excited ever since Rob & Maddie came my way. Tall ceilings, wooden floors, spiral staircases, and ornate accents are all a photographer’s dream; so are a beautiful, silly, easygoing bride and a friendly, in-love, sentimental, and slick-dancing groom.

The couple got ready at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. After an emotional first look along the Detroit Riverfront, we spent some time taking photos in Grand Circus Park, then made our way to Old St. Mary’s Church in Greektown so the couple could tie the knot.

We stopped by the popular Z-Lot for rooftop photos with a dynamic sky, then to the Colony Club where Rob & Maddie spent a few more minutes together all alone (plus me) in their decorated ballroom.

Wedding photography at the Colony Club hardly feels like work. I hope to be back again next year!
