Eric & Claire
Eric and Claire were married on New Year’s Eve day last year. Anyone who is getting married on NYE day is obviously ready for a great day and a serious party! In fact, the groom, Eric, stood up in a wedding I shot last year, and he was the life of the party (and that’s an understatement). So I truly couldn’t wait for his and Claire’s big day. When I met the two of them together, I knew that not only were they madly in love, but being around them just makes you love them too – seriously great people.
The day dawn bright and beautiful, and the twinkling lights of Christmas still clung to trees all over the city, including the wedding venue.
Claire looked so classically beautiful, and she was the sweetest and most easy going bride. It’s not often that the bride is the calming presence that keeps everyone feeling relaxed and at ease. Eric was just as laid back. He was so dapper in his grey suit and pearl silver bow tie, and very welcoming and friendly. I just felt so at ease with these guys.
The ceremony took place at St. Thecla Church in Clinton Township. The flower girl and ring bearer were awesome—perfectly behaved and sweet. Then, off to Villa Penna in Sterling Heights. The decor was simple and elegant. I loved shooting at Villa Penna’s, with its Italian heritage and century old Italian recipes. Dinner included exquisitely prepared filet and pasta.
This wedding was such a fantastic way to end the year – on a high note. I think I had as much fun as the bride and groom! Hope to see you soon, Eric and Claire!
