Jeff & Jaclyn
Jeff and Jaclyn tied the knot at the Detroit Golf Club in June. Usually June is a slam dunk for weather, but we did have a little bit of rain during the ceremony. All eyes were on the lovely couple, and everyone huddled together under their umbrellas.
Jaclyn was a complete knockout in her strapless lace gown with an elegant, draping train. And to finish off the look – sparkling gems dangling from her ears. Jeff looked downright dashing in his black suit with a pale pink bow tie and pocket square, and a complementary pink rose boutonnière.
I have wanted to shoot a wedding at the Detroit Golf Club for a while—it is such an amazing venue! This historic golf club has been intertwined with the ever changing history and landscape of the Motor City since 1899, near the University of Detroit Mercy and Palmer Woods Historic District. It is a private club, with membership by invitation only, so this was my first glimpse!
Before the ceremony, we headed downtown to the Detroit Athletic Club for wedding party photos. This place has six stories of jaw dropping Italian Renaissance architecture, inspired by Rome’s Palazzo Farnese. The club was founded in 1887, and over the years has provided financial assistance and training opportunities for amateur athletes preparing for the Olympic Games. We shot some photos in the stately lobby, then were allowed up to the restaurant deck that towers above much of the city with a beautiful view of Comerica Park. It was amazing.
The bride and groom were having so much fun, and it made the wedding such a blast to shoot. Jaclyn and Jeff couldn’t say enough about her wedding team and all of their help in making their wedding day perfect, from the flowers to the hair and makeup to the music. It was an incredible day, and I wish them all the happiness in the world for years and years to come.
